Listen to a short video on what a few readers had to say about "Family Secrets"
Great Reviews
The making of the video with my sisters in Christ went smoothly. It's something about working with Christians that makes all the difference. They were selected because I knew they had read and enjoyed Family Secrets, and I assumed their comments would be positive. What I didn't expect were the comments about me personally.
Somehow I had conveyed to these women my deep passion for Christian values through literature. After taking in the compliments and feeling good about them, I quickly thanked the Lord and gave Him the credit. It is through His Word that I am able to share the Gospel in this unorthodoxed fashion. I am so grateful that my sisters appreciate these works and have supported my vision. It is my prayer to bring wholesome reading back to the mainstream one book at a time.
My journey as a writer has been a labor of love. It's the one job I would do for free, and don't think I haven't. I can recall having nearly a whole chapter written, only to hit the wrong key that sent my prose into cyberspace, never to be seen again. I was heartbroken, it took me a week to get back on my keys, and when I did, I adopted a new rule...save, save, and save.
Controversial Issues
In my latest book, More Secrets, I hit some hot buttoms, stuff that people don't like to talk about, but I do this because folks are sometimes confused about how to handle certain issues and what the Bible says about them. They have dilemmas with no easy fixes, so I bring them up in dialogue through the characters. My goal with this strategy is for readers to realize that the struggle or stronghold that they are experiencing may be similar and therefore might require the same resolution, scripture reading, or type of prayer to help them make better choices that reflect God's will.
